Most items I carry are Genuine Natural, Gemstones, but at times I do have synthetic or lab grown but they will be noted as such (they have the same physical properties and will test alike as the natural gemstones they are meant to replicate) but they are so perfect that they would cost a fortune if nature had created them and we wanted to own one, so it gives us the chance to see what a “perfect” rare gemstone of museum quality would look like and then own one. Any of the gemstones we carry if treatments (gemstone treatment chart will be added to site in the near future) have been done to them it is only the acceptable treatments by the industry unless it is noted as untreated. There are some gemstones which have treatments or enhancements are not ever necessary such as garnets and some which are almost always color enhanced such as Topaz.

GRADING of stones is a way of measuring the quality of the gem. Since there is no “official” way of grading colored gemstones you will see different ways of describing the gemstones such as “A”, “AA”. “AAA” as the grading system for colored gems; it is not a technical grading term but rather a way to describe light, medium, and dark tones of coloring in the gemstones. The chart below is also being used to describe gemstone clarity which is also used in the clarity grading of diamonds.

    Gem Clarity Grades Explained

    IF

Internally Flawless. The Gem has no inclusions even under 10X magnification and exceptional brilliance.

    VVS

Very, Very Slight Inclusions [eye clean]. The Gem is brilliant but contains very few inclusions which are difficult to see under 10X magnification.

    VS

Very Slightly Included. The Gem contains some inclusions and show even under the naked eye but will not affect the brilliance of the Gem.

    SI

Slightly Included. The Gem contains inclusions that are visible to the naked eye and will affect the brilliance of the Gem.

    I

Included The Gem is highly included with characteristics such as large feathers or inclusions That are visible to the naked eye and obviously affect the brilliance of the gem.
