  • Caring for your Gemstones & Jewelry

By Taking a little time to treat your jewelry and gemstones properly the result can lead to years of satisfaction and enjoyment.

DO Clean your Gemstones and Jewelry
Gemstones which have been mounted will collect dust behind the gem so clean your jewelry and gemstones with water, a soft toothbrush and gentle soap. Ultrasonic cleaners can also be very effective but not all gemstones should not be put in them such as emeralds, pearls, turquoise, and opals. It is always a good idea when purchasing your new jewelry or gemstones for the proper cleaning instructions for your new jewelry or gemstone purchase to ensure their safety during the cleaning process.

Do NOT wear Gems during Strenuous Exercise
It is best to safely store your gemstones and jewelry before engaging in strenuous exercise and not taking a chance that a well-placed hit could damage the beauty of your gemstone, so it is safest to store them while engaging in any activity where they might be subject to damage.

Do NOT Handle Jewelry by the Gemstone
A stone can be loosened from the mount and you don’t want to take a chance of eventually losing it if the stone falls out. Store your gemstones separately as some gemstones are harder than others and a hard stone can actually scratch a softer stone.
